New Custom Aluminum Window
& Ventilator Frames
Many of the window frames originally installed in the new construction of older churches and institutions built in the early to mid-1900s were mostly all single glazed aluminum, wood, or double-glazed steel frames and stone window frame openings.
Some of these frames are starting to show signs of aging and deterioration from dry rotting, rust or weakness due to the inadequate strength and wind load bearing of the frame structure to the extent they are no longer functional or structurally sound and will require replacement. Allowing these frames to remain in their present failing condition may cause the stained glass panels to buckle, sag, or even fall out. The ideal alternative to replacing costly custom wood frames is the installation of either new J. Sussman 300 series double-glazed frames or 6400 series triple glazed thermal break aluminum frames glazed with one-inch thermal panel glass. The new aluminum frames can virtually be fabricated to replicate the shape of the old frames. J. Sussman has the industry's largest selection of specialized church window systems (for stained and/or protection glass).
• Custom Shaped Windows
• Single, Double and Triple Glazed Windows (Stained and Insulated Protective Glass)
• Hurricane/Impact Windows
• Vented Protection Windows
• Thermally and Non-Thermally Broken
• Dual Color Thermal Windows (interior/exterior)
• Ventilators and Casements
The new J. Sussman 300 series or 6400 series triple glazed thermal break aluminum frames are constructed with multiple tracks to accept the stained glass leaded panels and exterior protective covering. The inner channel accepts the stained glass leaded panels and exterior protective covering. The inner channel accepts the stained glass and the exterior glass accepts the exterior protective covering. This feature allows for the installation of stained glass at any time. Another advantage feature of these frames is the ability to repair and perform the maintenance to either the stained glass or protective covering without disrupting the adjacent panels.
New energy efficient single or double-glazed aluminum replacement ventilators can be installed to replace existing old aluminum or rusted steel ventilators which are inoperable due to frame deterioration and are no longer functional in a proper manner.
Our ventilator frames feature project in, center pivot, project out, or casement style ventilators.
