Protective Covering & Glazing System

The use of protective glazing (also known and defined as the installation of a secondary or storm glazing) is a protective material installed several inches away from the exterior of a stained glass window. Protective covering, glazing or storm systems, properly installed is a good way to safeguard and protect your valuable stained glass windows from the elements of mother nature, as well as the acts of vandalism.

One of the worst problems with much of the existing protective covering glazing systems installed over the years is the lack of being ventilated in a proper manner, therefore promoting condensation and heat buildup in the air space between the stained glass and exterior protective covering glazing system. Therefore, contributing to lead deterioration, bulging and bowing of the stained glass panels and decaying of the frames.

A properly vented protective covering should be designed and installed by a qualified stained glass professional.

Our craftsmen are highly trained and skilled in the design, fabrication and installation of properly ventilated protective covering glazing systems. The system will be properly ventilated to allow natural airflow to cool the space between the stained glass and protective covering glazing system. The protective covering glazing system will be installed in an aesthetically pleasing manner, therefore enhancing the beauty of your stained glass windows rather than obstructing them.

Our protective glazing crews have a vast range of knowledge and experience in all different types of architectural installation ranging from wood, metal, brick, stone or terra cotta.
